Cars in German City Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities stated they were notified by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Around 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were defaced, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a statement.

Officers report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they added.

Police then discovered many other smeared cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police say preliminary tests suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; authorities are not yet aware of any harm in connection with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the public for information.

A high-ranking representative said the incident rendered him without words and needed to be addressed quickly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on a platform, mentioning the death of nine victims by a gunman aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
